Appointed NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1990. Retired early into fulltime private practice in 2004. Elected member of the GMC 1999-2003; now GMC Associate. Senior Medically Qualified Panel Member, Tribunals Service. Medically Qualified Tribunal Member, Criminal Injuries Compensation.

Over 80 publications in peer reviewed journals and over 90 presentations to learned societies in both basic and clinical research. Member, Editorial Boards of International Journal for the Care of the Injured (Injury), Reviewer, Injury and The Knee.

Member, British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). Member, British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) and I have twice been awarded its Fellowship. Member, British Orthopaedic and Trauma Association (BOSTA).

Private practice

• My practice is predominantly but not exclusively knee surgery. I carry out both arthroscopic (‘keyhole’) operations and open operations particularly knee replacement. I have developed a replacement specifically for isolated arthritis of the patello-femoral (knee cap) joint.
• I consult and operate once a week at each Leicester hospital. I consult once a month at Harley Street in London.
• Each hospital provides modern up-to-date facilities. Available investigations include blood tests, x-rays, CT scan, MRI scan and ultrasound scan. Both in-patient and out-patient physiotherapy.
• Booking an appointment is easy. Simply contact the hospital of your choice directly. A referral letter is not essential. Patients can usually be seen within one week of request.
